About Me

My name is Alexandra Gkouma and I am an Integrative psychologist. I draw knowledge from various therapeutic approaches and techniques, combining the pieces that fit best together in regards to every client’s individual needs.

I have more than 10 years experience counselling parents, children and adolescents, as well as, Autistic children and their expat families.

Along with my psychology degree, I am trained in Cognitive Behaviour Τherapy, Attachment Theory and Person-Centred Therapy. I hold a Professional Certificate in Autistic Wellbeing. I am also an Accredited Certified Practitioner in Emotional Freedom Techniques.

I continue to deepen my knowledge and experience currently specialising in Clinical Psychopathology of children and adolescents, Integrative Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

I have offered counselling sessions remotely during covid time and continue to do so. I also provide EFT sessions online and in person. I have extensive knowledge in the early years development as I am a mother of a 3 year old myself. My experience also includes counselling educational staff in schools and daycares in the Netherlands, USA and Greece. I have offered online therapy to expats internationally in English and Greek.

My approach

Every person is born with the ability to achieve their full potential. I am here to guide them safely and help them navigate through life’s hurdles and transitions. Allowing them to express their authentic self in an accepting and nurturing environment.

I focus on the individual and their unique and specific needs and issues. The person is in the centre of the therapeutic procedure so there is not a ‘one therapy fits all’ approach in my work.

I value the different experiences and life paths that every client has been through and have led them here seeking for help and guidance.

The scope of my practice is understanding and untangling the bespoke thoughts, emotions and events of my clients thus allowing them space to reveal their authentic self. In order to achieve this, every session is tailored specifically and accordingly to the client’s unique therapeutic goal.

In my Integrative Counselling I implement basic psychological techniques such as CBT, Positive Psychology, Person-Centred therapy and theories of Attachment combined with Energy Psychology which also looks at the person’s nervous system and the body’s response to negative events and experiences.
